Artist
Kitchener, Ontario (Canada) native Pat Lackenbauer has been actively involved in fine arts and creative interests for most of his life which spans over 20 years in sales, marketing and promotion in both the music and art worlds.
Pat’s working career began in the music industry where he is still involved to this day. In the early 90s Pat started a small independent record label and released music from local bands and solo artists. During this time he held a full time position as Head Lighting Director of a production / touring company and eventually moved into the store location as the Sales & Rental Manager.
In 1999 Pat move on to an international music supply service as National Sales & Marketing Manager for the Canadian arm of the company.
Each position over the years have allowed Pat to use his natural creative instincts to find interesting approaches to promote and sell and manage companies and their product lines all in the music industry which has been a love of his since he was a young boy. These same creative instincts also lead to the creation of a very successful online life for the business. This talent has lead him to further design and lay-out work with his own website displaying and promoting his artwork, which remains his greatest passion in life.
Pat has always pursued a variety of ventures to promote and sell his personal and commissioned art pieces. This has ranged from curating his annual Studio X Event, to displaying in galleries, creating backdrops for theatre and touring bands, designing CD covers and T-Shirts, to custom paintings on skateboards and guitars cases, to painting murals in homes and businesses.
Pat continues to seek out new and unique ways to express his artistic visions with the latest being his self-published drawing journals, “The Wandering Artoholic”, which includes; writings, drawings, lyrics, poems, photos, and much more. The over-all concept is one’s search for dreams!
Pat’s education comes from life experiences and his own experimentation with a variety of different mediums and career choices. Pat has LIVED life, not just talked it.
Within Pat’s art career, stucco paint, oil stick, ink, watercolour, wood cut outs, and oil pastel crayons are the main mediums of choice through which Pat expresses his unique free form of art. Pat’s work reflects his belief in the Yin and Yang of life and from this belief he derives his motivation and inspiration to create. “I am interested in the opposing forces within us and that surround us all.” In addition, Pat is consumed by the energy emitted, and the emotional experience of creating. For Pat, the act of painting, drawing, combined with his natural “flow” is as important and exhilarating as the final result, if not more so.
