WHO or WHAT is The Wandering Artoholic?

OK, so you might be wondering what this WANDERING ARTOHOLIC thingy is all about….here’s the poop!

To start, I am The Wandering Artoholic, me, myself and I;

Pat Lackenbauer.  It is also the name of my drawing  journal. The journal is a small indie zine (independent book-magazine) I am self-publishing and making available as a subscription every two months or so, and also releasing for FREE online on this very site. The zine is based around my walk thru this messy yet wonderful thing called life. Follow me thru my drawings and words as I chase dreams and draw the world around me!

Along the way I will talk about the general-global idea of all of us wanting to follow our dreams and our passions and the difficulties and the joy of doing so. Of course I’ll be writing about my daily existence; the drama of my life, the boredom, the ordinariness, the high adventure and include all my “patisms”, Top 11 Lists (just to be me)  road trips, head trips, relational cross-roads, as well as a TON of my unique ink drawings and photos. It can get heavy, make you smile, laugh, maybe make you angry...a little bit of everything. PLUS how about some interesting guest contributors from time to time? And well, you know...just jam pack each issue with groovy-cool stuff to keep you coming back for more. I’m also hoping to share my concept of art and drawing as being…well, my spiritual path if you will. I hope to encourage others to get down to writing and drawing and journaling as a way to reach that lost child within us all that just wants to play and lose those ugly adult inhibitions.

Now one thing friends…if you purchase a hard copy of the zine, don’t expect a super-sized glossy, rigid “corporate” type mag from this little baby. It is indie style all the way in black and white and pocket sized at 5.5” x 4 “ with 100 over-flowing pages! (PERFECT bathroom reader size!)

There you have it. Like I said, the issues are released around every two months so we’ll see how that goes.  Please don’t send me nasty emails if it isn’t out right on the two month date, this book is loose and free!

Finally, I am always looking for input of any sort and hope to hear from all of you with words, drawings, photos, poems, whatever, and who knows, maybe one day you’ll be browsing through one of these ole’ journals and see your name and work.

I’m real excited about this project folks not only because it follows along closely to my heart but because I’m looking forward to having you right there next to me and maybe even supporting the DREAM!

Come on along for the ride...but be warned...it might getting bumpy from time to time!
